God Said, Let There Be Light, And There Was Light

â€Å"3And God said, â€Å"Let there be light†; and there was light. Genesis 1:3-4 (RSV) The verse above is profound due to the fact that it’s the first action of God and speaks volumes of his character. God simply spoke and light came into being. This action contrasts to what occurs later in the book of Genesis, where God forms man in his image and takes time to make man instead of just speaking man into existence. It relates to summary given in Snapshots by showing that before God created anything, there was nothing, and God’s first action was speaking light into being. Though this particular verse doesn’t speak of Jesus by name, it relates to elements of the Essential of Christian faith, by showing God. It show’s the reason that God deserves our reverence and power by showing God, doing the simplest action, talking. Talking is an action that most people are capable of doing, and yet, when God does it, it isn’t just words it creates light out of the nothingness that was the void. It shows why we should respect God and each other, because if we serve a God, that can speak things into being, he definitely deserves our respect. Also, if we are made in the image of God, then we too should be aware of the words we use and throw around at each other and the consequences it has on others. â€Å"So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gaveShow MoreRelatedCreationism vs. Evolution Essay1349 Words   |  6 Pages Creationism is the theory that man, the earth, and the rest of the universe was originally created rather than randomly exploding from nothingness into chance existence.
